Research process

This research process follows the design-thinking approach of the “Double diamond”, a process in which designers and researchers successively explore theme broadly (discover) and then reduce it to a specific one question and boundary conditions (define). This is followed by a second phase in which designers develop ideas for solving the specific problem (develop), to then work it out into a concrete prototype (deliver). For our research we have added a third phase in which we provide the insights from phase 1 and want to translate phase 2 into generic insights that can also be applied elsewhere (distribute).
